Network File
You will need a system for organizing your contacts’ names, telephone numbers, email addresses, conversation summaries, follow-up notes, and future networking activities. You must use a system that is comfortable for you. Three-by-five-inch index cards, spiral notebooks, personal organizers, or an electronic database are all options for organizing your contacts.
It is important that you create your network file immediately so you can begin to populate it with contact information from individuals you know now, and later you can add contact information of the people you meet.
If you are interested in using an electronic network file, you can download a free electronic template for organizing your contacts by clicking here.
Or if you prefer, you can create your own network file. Be sure to save your network file in a safe place. If it is an electronic version, then you need to save your network file on a CD, disk, or jump drive.
